33. You drive, you accept responsibility for your actions. And this is why you have to have insurance, a safety inspected vehicle, to be personally tested and know the rules and then can get a license or permission to drive, or have that permission rejected.

34. Brandy should be charged like anyone else, there is no grey area here. My sympathy to all the families (including Brandy's). Everyone is hurting here but the attorneys will take care of that. Was Brandy's distraction really caused by a cell phone? Will we really ever know????

38. Why is this news? If anyone else lost a family member in an accident like this (driver speeding & not paying attention) regardless of who the driver was, you would sue. I know many families that have lost family members or had family members dismembered or paralyzed. What are you going to do? You are going to sue. If it was her fault, then she should have to pay up. Not any more than the average Joe, but she should have to pay up.

42. You people are so quick to say that Brandy should serve time and be sued but in reality this could happen to anyone. How many times have you not paid attention while driving and just barely missed hitting the car in front of you? Yes it is sad that this woman died but it was an accident.

44. It's horrible what happened to that woman. I'm sure Brandy feels almost as bad as the family of the deceased. I think the right course of action is being taken by the family. No jail time will be served.

Brandy, apologize to the family directly, take care of the funeral expenses, pay their pain and suffering fees and begin the healing process. Don't let societies misguided judgements make you feel worse than you already do. I pray for that family and for you. The Lord knows you are heartbroken becasue of this, and that you didn't intend for this to happen.
