Elvis Lives -- In New Photos!

Necrostar Elvis Presley is back -- and TMZ's got him!

Think back to before the fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches to 1958, during the early Elvis craze, when he was shipped off for military duty. E spent the majority of his two-year stint in what was then West Germany, where he met a lil' young thang named Priscilla.

TMZ has uncovered these never-before-seen photos that document Elvis' return from Germany and his last days in uniform.

34. #32....to each their own... that said , after 30 yrs. he is still reveered by millions. just witness the special the other nite on ABC. and the thousands that visit Graceland each year.

while i sure don't condone his use of uppers and downers i can't imagine what it must have been like to be him.

that said...he was gorgeous and his voice was uncomparable to anyone else, living or dead.

i walk several miles a day with his songs singing in my ears....even after all this time!

35. To the haters:

It's sad that you are too narrow-minded to realize that Elvis was a gift from God.

He was just a man and had problems like all the rest of us. But he tried to live his life the best he could. We should all strive to be as generous as Elvis was.

37. Elvis will always be loved no matter what!! Look he is still doing great with his music (even though he is no longer here on Earth). I would rather have my kids love him than the no-talent singers who are out there now. He was definitely a beautiful man!!!

39. When Elvis finished his tour of duty in the Army and left Germany on March 2nd, 1960, he boarded an Air Force C-118 at Rhein-Main Air Base for the flight stateside to McGuire Air Force Base, which is next door to Fort Dix. That first photo looks like a frame edited from the film footage of Elvis' arrival at McGuire Air Force Base. Stars and Stripes snapped photos of Elvis boarding the flight at Rhein-Main and photos of his teenage sweetheart Priscilla crying at the departure gate when he left but those are rare and hard to find on the web. But the recorded film footage of Elvis' arrival at McGuire Air Force Base was broadcast on TV Network News after his arrival stateside and video made from that is not so rare or hard to find.

Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis Presley's manager, also made some film footage of Elvis' trip to Memphis after leaving Fort Dix, showing Elvis on the train and his arrival at Memphis Central Station. But a remarkable difference between the news film footage of Elvis' arrival at McGuire Air Force Base and Fort Dix on March 2nd and his arrival at Memphis Central Station 5 days later is Elvis' Army uniform and rank. Two months before Elvis left Germany he was promoted from SPC E-4 to SGT E-5, and that is the rank he was wearing on his standard issue Army dress green uniform when he arrived at McGuire Air Force Base and Fort Dix. But in Colonel Parker's film footage of Elvis on the train home and his arrival at Memphis Central Station, Elvis was wearing SSG E-6 rank instead of SGT E-5 and he was wearing an Army dress blue honor guard uniform instead of his standard issue Army dress green. I don't know if it's true, but rumor was that it didn't go unnoticed by the Department of the Army and that Elvis replied explaining that the SSG E-6 rank was a mistake the uniform tailor made. Another rumor was that Elvis was promoted at Fort Dix just before mustering-out.

42. The pictures are great but your info is not all correct. His mother had passed before he left to go to Germany. She had been staying in Texas while he was stationed there and taken sick she came back to Memphis to her doctors who put her in the hospital. When it became apparent that she was not getting better Elvis came home on emergency leave. Unfortunately she died on Aug 14th 1958. After the funeral and a period of morning Elvis left Graceland for Ft Dix, N where he shipped out to Germany.
